I recently purchased Kit's daybed frame, in need of TLC, for a price I could afford, from Ebay.
It has not arrived yet, but I am just SO excited about it.
I have a few questions, and I would really appreciate any help.
1.) Is Kit's mattress just ONE mattress that is folded in half and opens up to cover the trundle too, OR is it actually 2 seperate mattresses?
2.) Can anyone tell me the measurments of the mattress? (I will be making one)
3.) Can anyone tell me the measurments of the bedspread? (I will be making a quilt)
4.) Does the bed have stoppers or "feet" on the bottom of the legs?
5.) Is the hardware the bed is supposed to be put together with just basic stuff I can find at the harware store?
Thank you for all of your help. -Anna

American Mommy, my wireless connection is down right now, so I'm out in the coachhouse office. When I got in, I'll measure Kit's bedding and such for you.
The mattress is one piece and folds. The frame isn't attached to the headboard and footboard with any hardware. There are two little metal tubes on the boards, and the frame just slides down into those. I got mine cheap on eBay because those tubes were pulled straight (like two girls got in a a tugging match with the bed). I used pliers to put them back, and it's 100% again. What a steal!

The mattress is 19"x19" and folds down the middle, it is stitched twice about 1" apart down the middle. Then each side is tufted, just tied off, evenly spaced two rows with three ties each. The bedspread is 21" x just over 19 3/4" not measuring the trim which measures 1" wide on three sides and stitched on the outside. The pillow is 4 1/4" x 7 1/2".
It does have stoppers on the legs which would keep it from scratching but not from sliding.
It comes as one piece so not sure what you mean.
Hope this helps, good luck, it is the cutest bed.

I think you can order doll bed hardware from AG.. I asked about the yellow trundle bed knob and she asked if I meant the hardware.

Oh thank you all! I have been away from the computer all day and I was so surprised to see all of this! Thank you.
This is my bed: http://cgi.ebay.com/AMERICAN-GIRL-KI...QQcmdZViewItem
I understand it is not perfect, but I am still really excited about it. Thanks for the measurments, I can have a mattress ready when it arives now. Thank you!
I can't tell if it has the little tubes on the legs or not, but I am sure I can work something out.
Thank you again.
